Discuss your requirementConstruction-focused support
Clear advice connected to project delivery.
IMERI H&S Partners prepares and reviews construction COSHH assessments for products used on site and harmful substances generated by work activities. We consider the current safety data, actual task, quantity, frequency, exposure routes, people affected and existing controls before setting out proportionate measures, information and review requirements. The assessment supports—but does not replace—the relevant RAMS, supervision and workforce briefing.
Support is provided directly by a construction health and safety consultant and aligned with applicable UK legislation, HSE guidance and the project's own management arrangements.

Frequently asked questions
What clients ask about construction coshh assessments.
Is a safety data sheet the same as a COSHH assessment?
No. HSE says a safety data sheet contains information that helps an employer carry out a COSHH risk assessment, but the sheet is not itself an assessment. The assessment must consider how the substance is actually used or generated at work.
Do COSHH assessments cover construction dust and fumes?
They can. COSHH applies to many harmful substances created by construction processes, including dust, fume, vapour, mist and gas, as well as supplied products. Lead and asbestos are subject to separate specific regulations.
What information do you need?
We normally need the current safety data sheet where one applies, the task and method, quantity, frequency, duration, location, workforce, equipment, existing controls and relevant project requirements.
When should a COSHH assessment be reviewed?
It should be kept up to date and reviewed when the substance, process, equipment, people or site conditions change, when controls may no longer be effective, or after relevant incidents, near misses or worker concerns.
